Cayuga Nation Government
The Cayuga Nation plays a critical role in the future of sovereign nations, addressing key issues, exploring solutions, and planning for the well-being of its citizens.
Housing Department
The Cayuga Nation Housing Department is dedicated to ensuring access to quality housing for Cayuga Nation citizens. The department operates through two housing entities:
- Cayuga Nation Properties, a for-profit initiative
- Cayuga Nation Housing Authority, which receives funding through the Indian Housing Block Grant.
Both divisions focus on expanding Nation housing on Indian reservations, with the Cayuga Nation Housing Authority actively working to acquire and construct new homes within the Cayuga Indian Nation territory.
Education Assistance
The Cayuga Nation is proud to offer financial aid assistance to eligible Cayuga Nation citizens and children of enrolled fathers. Priority is given to enrolled Cayuga Nation citizens, with up to five awards available per semester. The maximum financial aid assistance award is $2,000 per semester, determined based on financial need. These awards are accessible to Cayuga Nation citizens regardless of their location. Applicants are encouraged to explore additional nation resources to support their education.
Conservation
As stewards of the land, the Cayuga Nation Conservation department protects our reservation lands from encroachment, poaching, dumping of illegal substances as well as maintaining the delicate balance of an ecosystem and set of wildlife to ensure population numbers are not put at risk. This helps to maintain our lands for our future generations.
