The Cayuga Nation focuses on Land Rights and Economic Development. The Nation continues to be challenged on its Treaty Rights and established reservation. Its businesses also are challenged and are currently in litigation in New York State courts. The Nation has approximately 493 enrolled members who primarily live in Western New York, but also can be found throughout the United States. Land acquisition continues to be a primary focus within the land claim area both in Seneca and Cayuga counties. The Nation currently holds approximately 824 acres in its land portfolio inside the land claim.
The Nation also operates several business, including Lakeside Trading and Entertainment, Harford Glen, Gakwiyo Garden, Arrowhead Cannabis Company, Sweet Grass Dispensaries, and Lake View Cattle Company. All are operated by the Cayuga Nation.

Harford Glen Water is a private label water bottler, located in Harford, NY. Harford Glen brings up water from an aquifer 250 feet below the earth’s surface that flows beneath the Cayuga Nation’s ancestral lands and is a source of PURE water. Harford Glen creates a unique label for each of its customers for their individual needs. Birthday parties, reunions, fundraisers, and business branding are examples of great uses for private label bottled water.

GAKWIYO GARDEN
Gakwiyo (Cayuga for “good food”) Garden is the Cayuga Nation’s agricultural division, located in Seneca Falls. The "home farm" is a 100-acre tract with a 3,000 square foot greenhouse. Over 35 types of fruits and vegetables are grown, which are used for weekly distribution to over 100 member households in Western New York. The Garden’s bounty is also preserved – through drying and canning – and sent to the Nation’s membership, nationwide, at season’s end. Last season, over 5,000 items were shipped to Nation households. Gakwiyo Garden also plants soybeans on over 200 acres of Nation land, which are sold to local processors. |

This farm raises black angus cows, pigs, and turkeys. These animals provide a healthy source of quality beef, pork, and turkey used for distributions to member households. The farm is approximately 45 acres and used every season.
